Black Bay is one of Grenada’s black sand beaches located off the beaten path in the parish of St. John. Accessible via a 20-minute hike from the Concord main road, this small beach is situated in a secluded spot. In fact, on a regular day, you will most likely be the only one there enjoying the glittering sand and warm water. Apart from taking a leisurely dip, one can also find a cozy spot to read a book. An added bonus to visiting this beach is the Black Bay Cave where one can see old Amerindian pertoglyphs. It is a great spot for relaxing and getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A guide is recommended for making the trek down to the beach.
