The Carriacou Regatta brings the story of the island’s rich traditional boat building history to life, a source of deep pride for the people. Steeped in the Scottish influence on the island and passed down through generations of shipwrights, the highly skilled art of building traditional wooden sloops is kept alive by a few on the island especially in the village of Windward.
