Feel transported more than 100 years into the past when you visit the Tower Estate and Garden. The 100-year-old Great House sits as the grand centre piece in the two-acre garden which is a plantenthusiast’s dream with beds of evergreen and flowering shrubs such as bougainvillea. They are complimented by an extensive collection of heliconias, bromeliads and ginger lilies. The amazing sight of the great house and garden are just the beginning as guided tours of the house’s historic interior, afternoon tea and leisurely walks through the garden await.
The guided tour is hosted by the garden’s current creator, Victoria Slinger who always happily shares her insights and artistic plan as you walk leisurely through the garden. Designed to provide yearround colour, many guests return throughout the calendar year to enjoy the different flowers in bloom. Additionally, the estate has many tropical and spice trees including flamboyant, mahogany and bay leaf.
The estate provides a wealth of vegetables and fruit, along with flowers and medicinal plants for signature tea blends. Be sure to ask about the Tower’s famous blue tea from the Butterfly Pea Flower which has medicinal properties. This tropical paradise is listed in the book “1001 Gardens You Must See Before You Die.” by Rae Spenser-Jones.
